Local travel tips

🚗 Getting around

Most guests hire a car or use Uber, which is widely available in Durban. We recommend Uber over metered taxis for safety and convenience. Traffic can be heavy on beach days — leave early.

☀️ Best time to visit

Durban is a year-round destination with warm subtropical weather. Summer (Nov–Feb) is hot and humid. Winter (Jun–Aug) is mild and dry — arguably the best time for beach visits without the crowds.

💡 Insider tip

Florida Road is a short Uber away for evenings out. Mornings, try the Musgrave farmers market on Saturdays. For the best bunny chow, ask us — we have a local favourite we're happy to share!
